In the world of Amateur Radio, the sad loss of the largest resource of information regarding Antennas and Antenna systems of every type that is imaginable Antenna designs, the theory behind them and the testing of such antennas was lost.
This often happens and sometimes the loss does not need to be remembered but more often than not these websites need backing up and the information on them needs to be saved before they totally vanish, I have seen this myself with many sites just vanishing or being taken over and they evolve and basically just delete the old data as they do not want people to see it, this also hurts when companies do not have websites because back then the internet was still in its childhood stages, such sites that we have lost are sights like Linear AMP UK, R. L. Drake, Henry, Force 12 Antennas, and so many more, even newer companies such as Palstar do not really support all the products that they have put their names too and information has just been deleted or they do not want anyone to have this information.
This becomes very annoying especially when the websites are like AntanneX, There is so many pages that have been lost, I used to subscribe to them and I thought that I had backed up a lot of the data, but now when I have come back to information and started to go through it to bring a lot of it back to life for a lot of Amateurs that miss this great resource, that I stupidly never checked each page that I backed up or saved, a lot of the pages have links that seem to go to know where, so I think I only have about 40% of what was available, I really wish that I had purchased one of the CD’s that they offered back then, but time and Cancer got in the way and then at some point the site vanished.
So, I am sorry for a lot of the information that is now lost forever, I kind of hope that I will find the information that I have been seeking which has been a personal interest to me.
