Welcome to my Valve and Tube Database which I use for Radio and test Equipment restoration Projects.
The information below is basically just for my own use, but if you come across this and find it useful, then great, though it may be totally wrong in places and if so please let me know and I will correct it as I go along.
Presently I have two rooms of the house full of boxes full of Valves, well over 5000 boxes, and I also have about 1000 untested and unboxes valves that will take a lifetime to go through and I suppose that I will have to create some sort of different numbering for new as opposed to untested, but when I do, I will make sure that it is quite easy to understand when I do.
I am working on other things such as the workshop, and the house in general and will only get around to it when I have some free space or need to tidy up rooms and move stuff around.
The ones that are listed on this site are ones that I have currently moved to ‘Really Useful Boxes’ (RUB), this seems to work and gives me quite an easy option to add more boxes and look neat on shelves, so I am looking into shelving to suit about 60+ RUB Boxes and as and when this gets built, I will add to this list.
This is assuming that the size I need is available at the local B&Q store who are more than useless and not getting stock in.
I will try to update the information soon, but it is kind of very low on the priority list.
I am now retired and living on the Isle of Man, my background is as varied as it gets, ranging from Information Technology to Graphic Designer and 3D VFX Artist, using and teaching Autodesk Maya, Softimage, and Smoke, one of more enjoyable positions. Since Moving to the Isle of Man I try to keep myself to myself and work on the house, I don't do much with regards to Amateur Radio or Electronics anymore, but I am still interested in the hobby and may well get back into it one day....
