I have just received the new 3B7C Book from Peter (SM5GMZ) and it is really polished!
The book follows the crew of the 3B7C DXpedition to Saint Brandon Island in 2007 and included quite a few local (UK) amateurs as well as our very own Bob Barden (MD0CCE)
The book is a available in both an electronic version or the lovely Hard Back version, which I would well recommend.
Peter was happy to sign my copy for me as I had been pestering the poor chap as to when it was going to be ready for print, I think he was happy to get rid of me….
There are even a few nice photos of Bob (MD0CCE) with the pages so at least we now know that he didn’t just enjoy the sun out there and was actually working! Never doubted it really!
A close up of one of the photos of Bob on the radio!
The book has been printed by Blurb in the USA and is superb quality, the bind is great and the images and text throughout the book are reproduced perfectly, and it is not just a book full of photos, there is loads of information and day to day ramblings of the lead-up to and the actual DXpedition as well as the wildlife and the more relaxing side of an DXpedition such as this.
The book itself is 96 pages long, with very thick pages, and very good quality prints, the images have been compiled by Peter (SM5GMZ).
10% of sales of the book is to be donated to the ARRL’s Youth Activities, and a further 10% is to be donated to the FSDXA (Five Star DXers Association) who organise these monster events and manage to find ways to overcome the problems that many other are unable to.
For the above reasons alone it is worth purchasing this book! but as a bonus, you get a really great book with loads of content of an event most of us will never be lucky enough to attend let alone dream about.
