If you have a Linux .run file that you need to install, just do the following to run this…
Open a new ‘Terminal’ window and type the following, but do not hit ‘return’ yet:
sudo sh +
Then drag the .run file from your ‘Finder’ window to the Terminal window, this will automatically be added to the end of the line that you have just typed in like the example here:
sudo sh + /Users/james/Downloads/MtoA1121/MtoA-1.1.2.1-darwin-2015.run
After hitting the return key you will be asked to enter the admin password, and then the installation should start…
I am now retired and living on the Isle of Man, my background is as varied as it gets, ranging from Information Technology to Graphic Designer and 3D VFX Artist, using and teaching Autodesk Maya, Softimage, and Smoke, one of more enjoyable positions. Since Moving to the Isle of Man I try to keep myself to myself and work on the house, I don't do much with regards to Amateur Radio or Electronics anymore, but I am still interested in the hobby and may well get back into it one day....
