The footnote…
For me, I feel it’s a shame that it never carried on to present days, I feel there is defiantly a love for the Eddystone still very much here in the UK, and we certainly do have much more of a chance to come across these, which is not the case of the Drake and Collins radios.
These also seem to fall into the category of ‘Home Audio’ as opposed to ‘Amateur Radio’ which I have often found surprising when you consider that some of these were very specialist.
I found that some of the articles in this ‘User Magazine’ were really very useful and well written, and really would have like to see where it would have gone in modern times, certainly the ‘Buy and Sell’ section would have been useful today, since I got hold of the two receivers that I worked on, I have not seen any more, sadly for me the location and the lack of travel has also played a rule here, Hopefully will be re-introduced one day so that I could do a restoration article for one.
