DARC OV P08 DXpedition to the Isle of Man - Take 2

Back in 2009, a bunch of Germans decided to use our little island for a DXpedition, now two years later, they are back with a vengeance, with more people, more equipment, and more bear!

They moved into Eary Cushlin in the North-east of the Island and managed to bring the rain with them, but that did not dampen the enthusiasm in any way what so ever and they all set to unloading the cars.

But before we get to grips with the diary of the events, here is the crew:

6th July 2011

For ages now we have had great weather here on the Isle of Man, now the Germans come over and bring some really horrible damp stuff with them, Not the nice summers day that we could have done with, but still showing the great view from the front of the house for the start of this DXpedition.

With most of the stuff unloaded and the unpacking starting to get underway there is a little time to sit down and relax a bit before tomorrow when most of the hard work will start with all the antennas that needs to be put up.

So with evening creeping in and the rain still pouring down, I left the crew setting up what they can and I will return tomorrow to help them put the antennas up and test all of the equipment.

Hopefully they will be able to start making a few contacts tomorrow!
